Arke | 360º experiential travel marketing

Here’s the last yellowBird release of 2011. It’s been brilliant!

Together with Q-Marq, yellowBird has produced a first of its kind holiday booking application for Arke, one of the travel brands owned by “TUI Nederland.”

First of all, a Mexican beach holiday can be “pre-experienced” in the first stage of the booking process. Experience the city atmosphere and the splendid white beach or grab a scooter to explore the surroundings.

Animated 3D hotspots disclose all information on holiday packages, destinations and prices of the available accomodations. Prices are automatically updated, which provides TUI with an effective, experiential online marketing tool.

We’re looking forward to keep bringing you the best 360 degree video content and applications from January 2nd 2012. Happy holidays to everyone!

Honda “Off the Grid” | Go beyond Streetview!

yellowBird are delighted to introduce our latest ground-breaking 360 experience for Honda, created by Wieden + Kennedy. The Street View style adventure takes the audience on a roller coaster ride through spectacular scenery and deserted landscapes and allows users to move and look around their 360 environment.

yellowBird designers worked with the agency to create a complete interactive player and functional build to match the ‘Off the Grid’ creative concept, and delivered the project in a branded YouTube channel The experience included leaving a virtual art gallery and following a Street View style red line on the floor through a hole in the wall. Users were invited to click the chevron to venture forth into the unknown and discover the interior of a glacial ice cave, an underwater reef artwork or a junkyard for old Las Vegas neon signage.

As well as delivering flawless playback, yellowBird developed an advanced asset streaming management system to ensure no buffering times. Please give it a go! You’ll see that regardless of the route chosen, everything is there instantly. Advanced asset management, multiple localizations, dynamic routes, line composites and chevrons. Everything built on the core of the yellowBird player engine. Want to explore the unkown?

Chivas Regal | “The Art of Hosting” in 360º video

Our London team found themselves in the heart of the action again with London agency EuroSCG and 2am films as we shot the stunning 360º introduction to the ‘The Art of Hosting’ for whiskey brand Chivas Regal. It was a tough gig having to spend two days surrounded by beautiful models but the footage is some of the best we’ve shot and was integrated into an exclusive micro site which brings ‘entertaining at home to life as a sensory, 360º degree, virtual party experience’.

The project was produced in association with exclusive Parisian night club ‘Le Baron’ and showcased five 360º films featuring the Le Baron gentlemen, Andre and Lionel demonstrating how to be the ‘ultimate host’. As well as a fantastic visual treat for the audience we at yellowBird see this project as the defining project in the trend towards beautiful narrative storytelling using 360º video technology.

The shoot involved around a hundred models in a beautiful location in East London and needed some incredible touches of movement from the actors and some incredible practical lighting from yellowBird’s  DoP’s Fabian and John. We’re very proud of this project especially given the low light conditions and would love you to take a look.
