On August 17th, the former French Colony Gabon has been independent from France for 50 years. yellowBird was asked to shoot specific 360º content that could be showed in a 25 meter wide stratosphere delivered by LM-Productions during ten days of celebrating fifty years of independence.
For this project we shot some amazing content of the key elements characterizing Gabon. From the green jungle to the beautiful beaches, from traditionally dressed people to filming the Transgabonais train and shooting in 360º from a helicopter. Everything was covered and each aspect representing this country has been made available in full 360º degree glory.
Together with the London based production company The Dark Room, yellowBird joined this project and delivered content that could be directly rendered to a 100% compatible dome projection format, thereby contributing to one of the first 360º documentaries for display in a stratosphere.
A selection of the photos taken during this project can be found on Facebook.
